The interior of the Statue of Liberty is an elaborate cage of metal. In the summer time, it can be hot and narrow. There are no elevators. The crown itself is quite small, and guards take shifts sitting at the top.
Access inside requires at booking in advance, by months sometimes so book early. Crown tickets cost only $3, while ferry tickets (to get to the statue) cost another $12. You can find more information on the
official tour site.
