Tokyo Sky Tree: world's tallest tower (12 photos)
Photo size:
As of March 2011, the new Tokyo Sky Tree has become the tallest tower in the world, currently at 604 meters. The tower rises everyday, with a planned final height of 634 meters at completion in Spring 2012. Sky Tree is themed around "Iki" (Edo spirit of traditional Tokyo) and "Miyabi" (traditional Japanese elegance).

Tokyo Skytree will function as both a radio tower (for digital TV broadcasts) and as a tourist attraction, featuring a mini-town at the base. The tower will have two observation decks, with cafes and shops. As the construction nears completion, the sky tree has already begun drawing hopeful gazes upwards.
